Special needs may include many types of conditions including: †¢ The perpetrators of serious Psychological and mental retardation, psychiatric disorders, significant behavioral, multiple disabilities, neurological disorders and addiction problems; or †¢ Offenders with physical disabilities or chronic illnesses or terminal; or †¢ Older offenders; or †¢ Criminals with serious deficiencies in social and / or educational, disability or language barriers to learning; or †¢ The perpetrator security needs or special supervision, such as protection, cases of detention, sentenced to death, and those who have the potential chronic or aggressive behavior; or †¢ Sex offenders, requiring treatment can reduce the risk of recurrence. Drug abuse is a major cause of the creation of offenders with special needs in society. Offenders with special needs require special attention during treatment and imprisonment.
